ADT Security Guard apprehends third suspect in two months
Armed Response Officer Chabela Madonci responded to an alarm activation at an office building on Cape Road around 2am on April 19, 2010.
“When I arrived I climbed over the wall and saw that a window had been forced open. I heard noises and found the suspect lying on the ground, hiding under a tree. There was a laptop next to him,” said ADT Armed Response Officer Madonci.
“I had already called for backup and notified the control room to contact the South African Police Services. While I was in the process of apprehending the suspect, Armed Response Officer Llewellyn Peterson arrived, the police arrested the suspect.
“This is the third time I have apprehended a suspect in two months, said Madonci, “adding that crime was on the increase in the area,” said Madonci.
Regional General Manager of ADT Security Eastern Cape Mike Byers said, “We are very proud of Armed Response Officer Madonci. His swift action led to a suspect being arrested by the South African Police and property being recovered.”
