Sharp eyes lead to arrest of suspect in Rondebosch
Thanks to the swift action of two ADT Armed Response Officers a suspect was apprehended on May, 14 on the premises of a house in Rondebosch.
ADT Armed Response Officer Mangelengele Langa was patrolling around 11pm in Keert De Koe Street when he noticed a suspicious blue vehicle, “As I came round the corner I noticed that the occupant in the car tried to hide from me. I asked him what he was doing there and he told me that he was waiting for two people and gave me a description of each of them.”
Officer Langa then called for backup and the police and detained the suspect until they arrived. “He explained to us that the two people had gone to fetch something at a house in Greenbank Road, so I went to investigate and found nothing. The police took the man to the police station,” said Langa.
Then around midnight, ADT Armed Response Officer Nkululeko Shiba was patrolling when he saw a man jumping over the gate of a house in Birkett Road, Rondebosch. “I requested back up immediately and went to investigate as the suspect matched the description given by the man in the car in Keert De Koe Street. I found the man hiding on the property and apprehended him. The police arrived and took the suspect to the Rondebosch police station”
